Outpost Inn Highlands

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend for our anniversary. From the moment we stepped foot on property the entire staff was so welcoming! The room was great and has a nice, cozy charm. We enjoyed the fire pits around the property and the coffee shop/wine bar is a must. You even get a free coffee and banana bread daily! Special shoutout to Alex who made the stay feel like home and was so accommodating and personable! We absolutely loved our trip and will be staying here next time we visit!

Another fabulous weekend at the Outpost Inn! We just enjoyed another awesome weekend at Outpost Inn, our now favorite place in Highlands, NC! The Grand Plus room was cozy with a fireplace, seating area and incredible linens. From just hanging out at the Inn's welcoming lobby, meeting other guests and chatting with the staff to enjoying local dining and breweries, it was a perfect weekend. The Inn staff, especially Alex, is friendly and helpful with recommendations and paying attention to all the details that make for a memorable "home away from home" stay. We recently stayed for my wife’s birthday and it was an outstanding experience! We’ve been to Highlands multiple times, had our wedding there, etc., but this weekend really stood out. We stayed in the Petite room, which was labeled perfectly...cozy without feeling cramped. The thoughtful design details made the room feel intentional and unique. The highlight was spending time at the wine bar. We had a late night experience where we arrived right at closing and the owner, Jason, couldn’t have been more welcoming. He kept everything open, added more wood to the fire, and spent another hour socializing with us and a few other guests. It felt incredibly personal and genuine. That level of hospitality made the stay special. We'll be back!

I had a very lovely NYE stay the Outpost Inn. I brought my dog with me and we stayed in Room #11, the queen terrace. It was perfect! You have your own deck and no other rooms on either side. The fireplace unfortunately did not work, they said they could not get anyone out to fix till after my stay but did give me 20%off. The coffee/wine bqr is so homey and relaxing! The staff were friendly and speedy to answer. Easy check in, everything was done on my phone. They send you a text when your room is ready and give you a door code. Its is very close to the main street of Highlands. Overall, I would def come back especially in the summer!

Where to even begin.. this place was excellent!! We have stayed at their sister hotel, HMH, a few years ago and loved it so we were excited to try outpost inn. They definitely matched the vibes with this hotel. The decor, bigger rooms with a fireplace, a wine/ coffee bar with the coolest mcm fireplace, and they accommodated us with our 10 month old. We were greeted with a smore kit and anniversary drinks. They even took some chairs out of the room so we had more room for the pack and play. Alex was so awesome with all of her wine recommendations and great conversation. You can tell she loves what she does. They are a little off of the main drag which is so nice. We always had a parking spot and everything was about a 3 minute drive from us. We can’t wait to come back to visit again!

Where to start! We visit Highlands often and have stayed in almost every hotel and this is a gem! My husband and I came to celebrate my birthday and had the absolute best time. When we arrived Alex made us feel right and home and was so sweet and welcoming! We stayed in one of the smaller rooms and absolutely loved it - it was perfect for us, cozy and relaxing with so many cute touches and details (I also have to say, the water pressure was superb). The wine and coffee bar was so cute and relaxing, we could have spent all day in there lounging by the fire. Outpost Inn feels like its own oasis in the mountains and is the perfect getaway to relax and recharge. The people are also truly amazing and go above and beyond with hospitality. When we got back from dinner, we did not realize the lobby was closed for the night, but the owner insisted we stay as long as we wanted, put more wood on the fire, offered us a glass of wine and spent time talking and getting to know us. We were blown away by the experience we had and will definitely be staying here on our future trips to Highlands. Highly recommend because you won’t find any other hotel like this in town! Took a quick weekend trip to Highlands for my husband's birthday and booked a stay here at the Outpost Inn because I liked the decor and vibe on their website. This is one of the coolest and most unique hotels I've ever stayed in! The furniture, art, landscape design, exterior - everything is one-of-a-kind and has a feel you won't get at any other hotel. Besides that, our room was huge and spotless, the staff was beyond friendly and helpful, and the food and drinks were excellent. Very easy walk to downtown and plenty of parking onsite. Highly recommend and we will be back!

My husband and I just visited Highlands for a last minute 2 night get away, and I selected The Outpost Inn without knowing much about the area. It was perfect. Alex was working during most of our stay and she was so helpful and kind and hospitable. The check in area and wine/coffee bar area with cozy seating was welcoming and relaxed. We stayed in the petite room and it had the most comfy bed, a great title sitting area, and nice amenities that made our stay special. The location was fantastic for us because the room prices are much better than the places I checked into which are in the center of town, and the Inn is just a little walk with nice sidewalks down to the center of Main Street. We will definitely go back.
